The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) made an inquiry on July 22, 2022 concerning the report made by the party and the attached documents vis-à-vis the Law, the bylaw of the party, and the report from NEBE’s observers.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held consultation with civil society organizations and stakeholders on the continuity of civic education

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held consultation with civil society organizations and stakeholders on June 2, 2022 on the continuity of civic education. The consultation, opened by a speech from Woubshet Ayele, Deputy Chairman of the Board, had the objective of creating awareness on civil society organizations and institutions that their participation in civic education and voter education should not be limited to the election season. It also aimed to raise awareness of the role of the Board and other stakeholders in the continuation of civic education.

Announcement from the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) on the financial support from the government for the 2020/21 fiscal year

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), pertinent to the power it is granted according to the Ethiopian Electoral, Political Parties Registration, and Election’s Code of Conduct Proclamation 1162/2019 Article no. 100, sub-article no. 2, has approved and has been implementing the financial support for political parties in the 2020/21 fiscal year through the special bank account that the parties have opened for this purpose. Based on this, it has been declared that, apropos directive no.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) Held Consultations with Political Parties

NEBE held consultations with political parties on February 2, 2022. The consultation was led by the Birtukan Mideksa and Wubshet Ayele, the chairperson and deputy chairperson of the Board respectively. The political parties complained that following the declaration of the state of emergency, members and leaders of the parties have been arbitrarily arrested and harassed.
