Capacity Building Training was given to the Branch Office Officials and Staffs of the National Election Board of Ethiopia

The National Election Board of Ethiopia organized the fourth round training based on the findings of an earlier demand survey for the Branch office officials and employees of the regional branch offices of the Election Board. The three-day capacity building training was on the topics of "In the process of resolving election-related disputes according to the election law; Alternative dispute resolution procedures; On Violence against Women and Gender and Inclusion during Elections ".

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) participated at the 7th annual continental forum of Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs) held in Maputo, Mozambique.

The general assembly of the Association of African Election Authorities (AEA) was also held along with the forum, and Ethiopia was elected to serve as Deputy President of the continental Association.

NEBE was represented by its chairperson Birtukan Midekssa to participate in this forum organized by the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security (DPAPS) of the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Association of African Electoral Authorities (AAEA) from 14-15 November 2022 in Maputo, Mozambique.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia passed the following decisions regarding the complaints made at the General Assembly that the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice (Ezema) held on July 2nd and 3rd, 2022

Zemenu Mola and six other members of the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice Party submitted written complaints on June 28, July 6, and July 12, 2022, regarding the party’s first General Assembly, held on July 2nd and 3rd, 2022. They informed the Board that there were various violations of the party's bylaw, and they submitted additional evidence that they said would help strengthen their appeal. On the other hand, Dessalen Bezabih and two others similarly submitted their written complaints.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) submitted a budget request of 541 million birr for the referendum to be held in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Region of Ethiopia (SNNPR).

The National Election Board of Ethiopia has submitted a budget of 541,270,104.82 to the House of People's Representatives for the implementation of the referendum to be held in the SNNPR.

It is known that the board will conduct a referendum on six zones under the Southern Regional Government, namely in Gamo, Gofa, Wolayta, Gedio, Konso, and South Omo zones and five special districts, namely Burji, Amaro, Derashe, Basketo, and Alle.
