ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Senior Data Analysts position who meet the following requirements.

Salary:                             As per the organization salary scale (Competitive)

Job Summary

Senior Data Analysts is responsible for overseeing data systems and reporting frameworks, guaranteeing the integrity and accuracy of data. They perform analysis of the data to provide insights to management. Responsible for the maintenance and updating of the Biometric Voter Register and production of voter lists and other reports generated from the database(s).

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensure that data voters data and other datasets within NEBE is maintained accurate, consistent, and reliable
  • Scrutinize computer-generated reports and outputs to identify and report and rectify data anomalies
  • Ensure that all data from various sources are consolidated into my central database system to avoid data fragmentation and guarantee data security and privacy.
  • Create and maintain processes to generate accurate and timely reports that help NEBE to understand and act on key data insights
  • Engage with other departments to specify data requirements for analysis projects tailored to their unique business processes
  • Employ statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable insights that will support decision making.
  • Plan and supervisor and data cleaning exercise that may arise through the electoral cycle.

Specification:

Education and Work Experience: 

  • MA or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field.
  • 7 years for Masters or 8 years for Bachelor
  • 4 years in a leadership role

Training

  • Prior experience in data analysis or a related field being advantageous

Knowledge:

  • Possess a solid foundation in statistics and practical experience with statistical software (such as Excel, SPSS, SAS) and mastery in data analysis languages including SQL, Python, and R.

Know-How (Skills) (Technical competencies):

  • Ability to analyze problems and make data-driven decisions.
  • Working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals..
