The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia concludes a series of consultations it has been holding

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia concluded its three-day meeting with various stakeholders on November 2, 2020. The discussion was attended by civil society organizations, members of the media community and political parties. Among the major issues raised at the forum are: the major preparations about the election during covid epidemic; What are expected from stakeholders? What does the Board's preparation look like? When will the main election activities take place? And how election related conflicts be resolved, were also been discussed.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia holds discussions with stakeholders on the upcoming national election

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia held talks with government stakeholders last week on preparations for the upcoming national elections. During the meeting, ministers from concerned sectors were present and discussions were held on the key collaborations expected from each ministry. The discussion was attended by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Peace, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Central Statistics Authority.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia exhibits/shows the election operation preparation and party center for political party leaders.

Members of the Joint Council of Political Parties and Political Parties have attended a visit organized by the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia today, October 23, 2020. Members of the Joint Council of Women Political Parties were also present.

They visited polling stations and warehouses designed to show the upcoming election process and operations conducted in previous election. In addition, the Board handed over the keys of different offices and party center to the Joint Council of Parties and the Joint Council of Women members of Parties prepared for them.

The National Electoral Board Ethiopias decision on complaints from Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) leadership

It is known that the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has received various complaints from members of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) leadership regarding the change of leadership and suspension.
On one hand, on August 7, 2020, Ararso Bikila and others, by two letters dated 06 / ABO / 12 and 7/08/12 05/03/19, number 08 / ABO / 12, had informed NEBE that the party's executive committee had imposed a ban on the party's chairman, Daoud Ibsa, and asked the board to approve the decision.

A call to the media to visit the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia`s preparation for the operation of the 6th National Election

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia would like to tour the media on its preparations for the 6th National Election Operation. Therefore, all media outlets registered with the Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority are invited for the visit.

USAID Donates Equipment to Election Board

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has donated 2,626,780,00 Birr worth of equipment, which are essential in Corona virus prevention, to the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE). Items of the donation includes mouth and nose mask, gloves, sanitizer and thermometer. The National Election Board would like to thank USAID for the support.
