National Electoral Board of Ethiopia held a consultative forum with political parties and stakeholders on March 15, 2021 regarding women inclusive election campaign and the role of stakeholders. The forum was opened by Wubishet Ayele, Deputy Chairman of the Board. In his speech, the deputy chairperson described the progress of women's political participation over the past 30 years. He added that despite progress, much remains to be done.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held a second round of discussions with licensed civil society organizations. The discussion, opened by the Deputy Chairperson of the Board, Woubshet Ayele, was held for two consecutive days and ended on March 12, 2021. Abera Degefa (Dr.), board member, presented the basic rules set out in the first day of the forum for the issuance of voter education licensing and Code of Conduct Directive No. 4/2012 in relation to the responsibilities of civic associations.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia provided training on March 5 and 8, 2021 to local civil society organizations which applied to observe the 6th National Election and which have passed the first round. The forum was opened by Woubshet Ayele, Deputy Chairperson of the Board, and documents were presented by the Board's Program expert, Department of External Relations, Gender and Inclusion department of the Board, as well as experts with international experience.

It is to be remembered that the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) failed to hold the 6th general election on August 29, 2020 due to the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Board is currently undertaking various activities in making necessary preparations to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 during the election.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held a media briefing with political parties on the registration process and technical work of the 6th National Election on March 02, 2021. The meeting was attended by the Chairwoman of the Board and presented various findings from the registration process.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), on February 25, 2021, received 22 cars donated jointly by the European Union and the German government. The handover ceremony was attended by the Board's chairwoman, Birtukan Mideksa, and included 12 hardtop and 10 pickup trucks. The Chairwoman expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the Board for its logistics activities. The Board emphasizes the need for support from both the government and the European Union; therefore the board is grateful for such support.

National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) presented reports to the political parties regarding the registration of candidates and related election events on the 6th National Election in the presence of the media on February 23, 2021. The report was presented by a member of the Board of Elections of the Board, and it emphasized on three agendas: the information provision process during the pre-election, election, and post-election periods.

On February 16, NEBE presented reports on the 6th general election voters’ registration and related events to political parties in the presence of the mass media. The report is based on three agendas, and the Board’s Voters’ Education department staff presented the report on the pre-election and post-election information delivery/provision process. The Board’s Operation Department staff also presented detailed information regarding the operation and logistics flow and the challenges that might be encountered when the Board opens different departments.
