The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held a discussion with political parties on the process and implementation of voter registration, general operations activities as well as upcoming events.
Voter registration, which has been conducted in 11 regions and city administrations across the country, ends today. As today is the last day of voter registration in Addis Ababa, Afar, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Dire Dawa, Harari, Oromia, Gambella, Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples, Sidama and Somali regions, we call on citizens who do not have a voter’s card to register.

To help increase the reach of the electoral law to the blind, the board begun handing out braille publications to civil society organizations that provide voter education to persons with disability and observe the election. In addition to the braille, the board has begun issuing badges that would allow civil society observers have a legal recognition at polling stations.
