The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia on Monday (December 21th, 2020), handed over records of the Institute of Ethnic Studies to the Ethiopian National Archives and Library Agency. It is known that the Board has inherited the documents of the Institute for the Study of Nationalities established by the previous government in March 1983. The following are the five different sectors where studies have been conducted on, by the institute:

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia holds two consecutive forums on International anti Gender Violence and Disability Day

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia has held two consecutive events this week on inclusion and gender mainstreaming. The Consultative Forum held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, marked the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Representatives of various parties and civil societies have participated on it. The opening remark was made by Woubshet Ayele, member of the Board`s management.

A call from the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia to local civil society organizations wishing to participate in the election observation process

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia, in accordance with the FDRE Constitution, Political Parties Registration and Electoral Ethics Proclamation No. 1162/2019 and the National Electoral Board Establishment Proclamation No. 1133/2019, approved the Licensing and Ethics of local election observers` directive No. 05/2020. The directive was approved after including input from civil society organizations and other stakeholders on the issue.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia concludes two days of consultations with political parties regarding the directives issued by the Board.

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia concludes a series of consultations it has been holding

The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia concluded its three-day meeting with various stakeholders on November 2, 2020. The discussion was attended by civil society organizations, members of the media community and political parties. Among the major issues raised at the forum are: the major preparations about the election during covid epidemic; What are expected from stakeholders? What does the Board's preparation look like? When will the main election activities take place? And how election related conflicts be resolved, were also been discussed.
