The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has been given the responsibility of registering political parties in Ethiopia based on the National Election Board Establishment Proclamation No. 1133/2019 and the Ethiopian Electoral, Political Parties Registration, and Election’s Code of Conduct Proclamation 1162/2019.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) passed a decision on the reports submitted regarding the General Assembly of the National Movement of Amhara (NAMA)

Decision made on August 1, 2022

In a letter written on July 18, 2022 no. NAMA 392/02/22, the party has informed the Board that committees have been set up and work has been done to hold a General Assembly among which is the amendment of the bylaw, and according to the opinion given by the Board, it has attached the draft bylaws that have been amended before being approved by the assembly.

The Board held a meeting on August 1, 2022 to examine the document presented by the party in terms of the law and the party's bylaw.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia issued a certificate of registration and legal personality to the Agew for Justice and Democracy Party

The National Election Board of Ethiopia received a letter from Dr. Addisu Mekonnen and others requesting recognition to register as a regional political party under the name "Agew for Justice and Democracy Party (Fitih/Justice)". The board examined the submitted documents according to the law, so that incomplete documents are completed and those that need to be corrected are also corrected. Based on the National Election Board of Ethiopia establishment proclamation no. 1133/2019 and Ethiopia's Election, Registration of Political Parties and Election Ethics Decree no.

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held consultation with civil society organizations and stakeholders on June 2, 2022 on the continuity of civic education. The consultation, opened by a speech from Woubshet Ayele, Deputy Chairman of the Board, had the objective of creating awareness on civil society organizations and institutions that their participation in civic education and voter education should not be limited to the election season. It also aimed to raise awareness of the role of the Board and other stakeholders in the continuation of civic education.
