The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia provides training to local civil society organizations applied to observe the 6th National Elections and were qualified in the first round
The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia provided training on March 5 and 8, 2021 to local civil society organizations which applied to observe the 6th National Election and which have passed the first round. The forum was opened by Woubshet Ayele, Deputy Chairperson of the Board, and documents were presented by the Board's Program expert, Department of External Relations, Gender and Inclusion department of the Board, as well as experts with international experience. When explaining why the training was necessary, the board's management member Buzuwork Ketete said it was because of lack of planning and methodology in the document submitted by some civil society organizations.
Why election observation, election observation values and benefits, ethical rules and responsibilities during election observation, inclusive observation process, international experiences on election observation including election observation strategy, organizing reports, and implementing inclusion principles are among the main agendas of the training. The program was concluded after a discussion was made with the participants.
