The Ethiopian National Election Board (NEBE) is conducting a training program aimed at preserving and maintaining its Archives.

The training, which will take place from February 10 to 21, 2017, is designed for experts from various departments within the Board. It will focus on equipping participants with a deeper understanding of how election-related information resources are collected, organized, and safeguarded.

In her opening remarks, the Board’s Chairperson, Ms. Melatwerk Hailu, emphasized the importance of the NEBE’s historical preservation of Election documents/archives, which holds numerous documents and archives of great significance. She highlighted the potential of these materials for scholarly research and their national importance, stressing the need for proper organization and preservation of these resources for future generations.

Ms. Melatwerk also expressed her gratitude to the Ethiopian Archives and Library Service for providing the training and expressed hope that the trainees would engage diligently and acquire the necessary knowledge to support the long-term preservation of the institution's archives.
