The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) held a workshop with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on the annual work plan of the (SEEDS2) project.
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) conducted a workshop in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to develop the annual work plan for the SEEDS2 project. The workshop, held over three days, brought together department heads from NEBE to strategize on activities for the 2025 G.C. under the UNDP-supported SEEDS2 initiative.
The primary goal of the workshop was to enhance NEBE’s institutional capacity in planning and implementing activities effectively. The sessions aimed to ensure that NEBES’ departmental work plans align with the support provided by the SEEDS2 project while fostering a result-oriented approach.
UNDP experts conducted training sessions on Result-Based Management (RBM) to strengthen the Board's planning capabilities. The training emphasized the importance of creating measurable, risk-informed plans that address potential implementation challenges proactively.
Key discussions included:
- Incorporating political, social, and emerging events into strategic planning.
- Consulting stakeholders to ensure comprehensive, inclusive, and effective planning.
- Avoiding duplication of efforts and resource wastage by involving stakeholders at all stages.
The workshop also focused on the UNDP’s reporting, monitoring, and evaluation templates. Participants engaged in practical exercises on Result-Based Reporting, Monitoring, and Evaluation, improving their understanding of tracking progress and assessing impact.
UNDP SEEDS2 project experts presented their planned areas of support and budget allocations for 2025 G.C. discussions centered on aligning these plans with NEBE’s priorities and addressing anticipated challenges. Departments jointly reviewed and refined their work plans based on these discussions.
By the end of the workshop, NEBE departments had collaboratively developed detailed work plans tailored to their respective responsibilities under the SEEDS2 project. These plans were presented and refined in a collaborative session, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and the strategic goals of the Board.
